IV nutrient therapy is the process of giving vital nutrients to the body via the bloodstream by accessing a vein in the arm with a small needle. The nutrients are administered and dripped slowly taking between 30 to 45 minutes and as much as 3 hours, depending on the solution being given. Most IV drips take one to two hours.  Some IV Clinics also offer booster drips, which are administered in half the usual time.

Who can benefit from an IV Nutrient Therapy?

Almost everyone can benefit from IV nutrient therapy, popularly known as an IV Drip. Whether you are healthy or not, there is an IV infusion that should fit your needs.  Almost all nutrient therapies are both rejuvenating and restorative.  For people with medical ailments, IV nutrient therapy is safe, effective and restorative. IV nutrient therapy has been used for years as an anti-aging treatment.

Why give IV Nutrient Therapy?

IV nutrient therapy quickly delivers accurate amounts of therapeutic vitamins, amino acids, minerals and other nutrients into the bloodstream. Using the IV route of administration allows for the maximum concentration of nutrients to reach tissues that need them the most.  This greatly benefits patients who cannot tolerate oral supplementation or those who have digestive issues and deficiencies.iv drip session

What are the benefits of IV Nutrient Therapy?

IV therapy rapidly increases the nutrient levels in the center of the cells where the nutrients are most needed. Cellular regeneration begins when the cells have the nutrients they need to function properly. Effects are almost instantaneous just after getting an IV infusion.

Are there any contra-Indications to IV therapy?

The majority of people can tolerate most IV nutrient therapies. Occasionally, an individual may have an allergy to a nutrient and therefore should not receive infusions containing that nutrient. In addition, kidney or heart disease or high blood pressure may preclude the use of some of the nutrient IV’s. Those with G6PD deficiencies (enzyme deficiency, known as Favism) can’t receive IV Vitamin C (as per thr list of drugs to avoid) as well. Otherwise, these therapies are very safe and well tolerated.

What can I expect in an IV therapy session?

Expect to experience a little pain when the needle is pricked.  We give you an option to use either a winged iv cannula or a PVC catheter.

Depending on the infusion, you may experience warmth and either an increase in energy or a relaxation effect. An improved sense of calm and well-being accompanies many infusions, especially vitamin C infusions. Most patients report subsequently improved sleep.gluta iv drip

The length of treatment depends on the nutrient mix and concentration being infused. “Drips,” like high dose vitamin C, may take upto an hour or two.

Pre-treatment Reminders
It is best to eat before having an IV infusion as some infusions affect blood sugar. If you are diabetic, you should monitor your insulin dosage and bring snacks with you to your appointment.
